Meet the Team

Ignite is blessed to have the best team in town! Below are a few snapshots of our lifestyle coaches in their natural habitats…. working with people to change their lives. We are blessed to have the most dedicated, caring, forward thinking and creative team. This team comes with years upon years upon years of experience in community services in many different areas. Each person brings something unique to the team so that we are able to match the right staff to your need and want every time. We don’t just support you, we support you in your circle. We are there within your family, doing what we can to make a difference. We go above and beyond every day, every shift with every participant. We can help you with access to things like companion cards, access to consumables, disability parking permits. To help you learn and access anything else you need to make your life easier!

We don’t just employ anyone, we are very selective in our recruitment process and it is important that we match our staff and participants perfectly to get the right outcomes! When we interview, we ask people personal stuff. Like what do you do for fun, what are your hobbies and what skills do you have that you might be able to share with others? What are your passions in life and what are your goals, what have you achieved in the last few years? We ask these questions because we want a certain type of person. We want staff with a passion and drive for success, this drive will only help you achieve your goals with the right worker. We are a believer of teams of people around our participants, everyone brings something to the table for the best possible outcomes!

We are small but we are mighty!!
We try to keep our team small, tight and awesome. We prefer to spend our time with our participants to being trapped in an office.
You will often see us out and about doing fun stuff, but also in the office doing the important stuff to make sure we are doing everything we can for you!

Ignite started and is fuelled by my passion to make a real difference in people’s lives.
My whole life has been a lived experience with my mother living with an intellectual disability and also my sister. I have seen first hand the impact disability has on a person and a family unit.

I knew in late primary school that I wanted to help people and was a regular in the special ed unit. Moving into high school I was introduced to Aged Care which I later started working in and loved it. After starting my family young, I was faced with vulnerabilities and disadvantage of my own and learnt how to become strong, independent and resilient which I believe has helped me, help others. Education was my friend and over a few years I gained qualifications in Disability, case management, frontline management, and aged care. Moving into disability I found where I needed to be and here we are today. My passion is helping and supporting people to be the best they can possibly be, no matter the cards they were dealt.

Teresa

Program Manager

I’ve been privileged to work in the industry for several years, starting out as a Support Worker. My journey began with a deep care and compassion for others, which quickly became apparent to those around me. This led me to step into the role of a Team Leader, where I focused on supporting participants with a range of disabilities while also managing a team of dedicated support staff. In time, I had the opportunity to take on the position of Program Manager.

In this role, I oversee the care provided to participants, their support teams, and team leaders. I also take charge of organising our social group activities, ensuring that everyone under our care experiences the highest level of support and companionship.

Additionally, I am dedicated to ensuring that all paperwork and documentation compliance is not only met but done so satisfactorily. It’s truly fulfilling to be able to make a difference in the lives of those we support, and I am dedicated to continuing this important work with passion and empathy.
